ABOUT US
J/Boats, where you meet Mayco Marine, is an American boatbuilder based in Newport, Rhode Island, founded in 1977 by Rod Johnstone. The company specializes in the design and manufacture of fiberglass sailboats. All J/Boat designs are monohulled, sloop-rigged keelboats constructed of core-sandwiched fiberglass. The current product line consists of eight models, from the J/70 to the J/122E, ranging in length from 22.75 to 40 ft (6.9 to 12.2 m).
Emir İçgören, our Chairman of the Board, who became the J Boats Distributor in Turkey in 2022, is also a professional sailor. Having been involved with sailing since childhood, İçgören wanted to bring this passion to his professional life, adding weekly boat rentals and deck coating installation to the company's job description, in addition to his distributorship.
DESIGN
At its core, a J-boat is all about performance-related specifications and ease of sailing. Second, we enhance the interior by optimizing space wherever possible. We continue to believe that a sailboat's primary asset is the pleasure you derive from sailing it.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT
The standard version offers an unrivalled standard of equipment. The standard spinnaker hardware on a retractable carbon bowsprit is just one such example. The hull finish and add-ons are also unique in this market.
