UNIQUE DESIGN

The relationship between J Boats' American pragmatism and J Composites' French flair is well documented, but somehow it reached its fullest realization in the J/45. It required over three years of collaborative work, carefully considering every detail in a constant search for the best possible balance. The guiding principle was to maximize interior space and comfort while maintaining a sleek silhouette, minimal wetted surface area, and by far the lowest weight estimate in its category.

COMBINING THE INTERIOR WITH EXPERT INTERIOR DESIGN

The interior consistency and ergonomics of J/ yachts at sea are absolute givens. The aim for the J/45 was to push the boundaries in this regard. To achieve this, we collaborated with Isabelle Racoupeau on the interior design. She brought her extensive experience in cruising yachts to bear on the J/45 to maximize comfort and elegance. The result is a unique interior where natural light accentuates a resolutely modern design that provides both comfort and functionality while sailing.

CUSTOMIZABLE LAYOUT AND FINISH

The J/45 is available in a variety of layouts, including a 2-cabin version with 2 large heads and a sail locker, or a 3-cabin variant with a twin cabin option. Interior trim is available in a choice of three woods: oak, walnut, or teak. Further customization is also possible on the J/45 thanks to a wide range of premium upholstery options.

EQUIPMENT

A very specific choice of equipment was made for the J 45 to ensure the best possible standard of equipment on the market for long-distance cruising and offshore racing.

CARPENTRY

Our in-house carpentry workshops use traditional methods, featuring top-quality solid woods and veneers selected to provide a unique finish for each craft. Available options include walnut, light oak, or teak.

Position at the Helm

The twin steering wheels offer a wide range of positions so you can comfortably appreciate the subtlety and lightness of touch, making it easier to control your craft without fatigue. Adjustable foot pegs are concealed in the cockpit.

Maneuverability

A lightweight sailboat combined with a deep rudder: This guarantees exceptional maneuverability for this long-distance cruiser. You can turn a full circle in less than a boat length!

DECK HARDWARE

Each fitting has been very precisely proportioned and selected for its technical appeal and ability to withstand the conditions synonymous with long-distance crossings.
